Paint Cups
Photography
Paint Cups is an abstract photography series created serendipitously over the span of just a few hours. The photographed object is a 12" x 12" acrylic paint holder that I irresponsibly left in the treehouse in my parents' backyard. After a few days of rain and wind, I rediscovered it trickled with biomass. Its beauty was unique and recognizable, so I made a few adjustments and fetched my camera. When I'm in a mindset of openness, optimism, and fluidity, with the ability to slow down and observe, creative opportunities become abundant.

The series was awarded a Gold Key and as Best in Show Photography Portfolio through Scholastics in 2011. It was exhibited at the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit. My wonderful AP Art teacher Jessica McLean and I are pictured above.
